Michael was born with a serious heart condition,and he only had one working kidney.He was a little
fighter,he had his first operation when he was only 1 week old,which was a shunt.because his
colouring was very blue he had another shunt a few months later,as well as going in and out of Alder
Hey Hospital in Liverpool for tests and having balloons inserted into his arteries to widen
them.Michael was just great,i can see him now playing with the toys in the hospital and sitting in
the toy car, even at that age he never moaned,his strengh amazed me.When he was about 5 he had open
heart surgery he was very ill then.Because of this being a very high risk operation Michael had to
stay in I.C.U. for over a month,they were very dark days,but he pulled through thank God.As time
went on Mike got on with his life,still going for various tests and things.When Mike hit his teens
his health went worse.We were refered to Great Ormond street hospital in London,to try keyhole
surgery,as open heart surgery was thought too much of a risk,but sadly the operation was stopped
half way through as it was thought too dangerous to carry on.His consultant then told us Mike had
three options,go on the transplant list and pray,have open heart surgery which the only thing in his
favour was his young age or do nothing and stay at home.Mike chose to go for open heart surgery,at
least there was a chance,my heart breaks for him,he was so brave.He was only 18 when we went to
Broadgreen hospital in Liverpool.Sadley Michael never regained consciouness,i begged him to wake
up,told him it was over and that we were going home,but i knew in my heart that i had lost my lovely
son. Michael never moaned about himself or said why me he just got on with his life,he was always in
his bedroom playing music,talking on the net and playing computer games on line with other people.He
used to go and watch his mate play in a band.He was the best son ever it was an honour to be his
mum.I will love you Mike and miss you till the end of my days.Good night my Angel,God bless you,Love

I NEVER SAW YOUR WINGS
How is it that I never saw your wings
when you were here with me?
When you closed your eyes and soared
to the Heavens I could hear the
faint flutter of you wings as you left.
Your body no longer on this side
your spirit here eternally I see your halo shine.
I close my eyes and see the multicolored wings
surround me in my saddest moments and my happiest times.
Son my angel God has given you your assignment
always my Son forever my angel.
You fly into my dreams and when I am asleep
I feel your wings brush against my face wiping away
the tears I shed since I can no longer hold
you in my arms but in my heart.
You earned those wings dear Son
and you will always be me angel eternal.

SORRY FOR THE LACK OF CANDLES LAST FEW DAYS. LOTS HAVE HAPPEN, MY SON CHRISTOPHER 16 WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT. THANK GOD THAT HE'S OK. HE WAS ON HIS WAYTO FOOTBALL PRACTICE AND FELL ASLEEP DRIVING. I KNOW ANTHONY AND HIS GRANDFATHER MUST OF BEEN WATCHING OVER HIM. THANK GOD HE'S OK. ALSO BEEN WORKING ON MY HOUSE.
